Exotic Animal Laws
In Mexico where our Foundation is based, it is completely legal to buy and own wild Animals. As of 2019, the average price to purchase a Big Feline in Mexico is estimated to be $2,000 US Dollars. This provides easy access to many inexperienced, misinformed people who want to own a Big Feline. They are NOT pets! Most of these Animals will then be used as props for entertainment, photo shoots, backyard breeding, and more.
With The Current Laws And Regulations
In Mexico with the current laws and regulations being so lenient, they unfortunately do not hold the owners and the breeders accountable. This allows them to create excessive loopholes and provides them with the opportunity to breed and sell again.
Once the Animal becomes unmanageable, the owners will either sell the Animal for cheap or kill them.
